In the 1970s, Nathan Petrelli was a famous detective in London. He worked alone as he was not able to trust any person working alongside with him due to a painful experience. He used to have a partner, called Sylar, and they were best of friends. They worked together for every single case they had. But unfortunately, their friendship came to an end soon.
He received a call one saturday evening from Sylar, saying that he has figured out who the murderer of the democratic leader was and
importuned Nathan to meet him at the factory of Darkness Road this instance. Trusting his close friend, he grabbed his handgun and drove there as fast as he could. When he got there, Sylar was gesticulating to him, pointing at the ground. Nathan
surmised that there was a
subterranean tunnel beneathe the building. Unsurprisingly, his guess was right. Syslar told him he found traces of blood which led to the tunnel and suggested that both of them checked it out. But Natha feared that it will be
jeopardizing both of their lives as they had no idea exactly how many murderers there actually are down there.
Sylar shook his head and explained, “No, we must go in there and find out. The killer or killers may escape if we were to waste anymore time.” Nathan shook his head and insisted that they call for help and took out his walkie-talkie. Just as he was about to speak into his walkie-talkie, Sylar took out his gun and pointed at him. Nathan was surprised at his act and demanded him to put his gun away. Sylar laughed and blurted the whole truth. It was then that Nathan knew that the murderer of the democratic leader was his own partner and now, his good buddy wishes to kill him. With a swift and
surreptitious movement, Nathan grabbed his own handgun from his pocket and shot at Sylar. Sylar dropped the gun and fell onto the ground. He died at the spot. Blood was oozing out from his skull.
Nathan sobbed silently to himself, “Case closed”. Thus from then on, there was no one that he could trust, not even his own best friend.
